Four Different Artists jump on a Top Rankin’ production called the „Rebel Chant Riddim“ – a melodious, Hip-Hop-influenced reggae tune, bringing out a rebellous vibe with the Sample of „Declaration of Rights“ by The Abyssinians. On the track, the artists speak of the different experiences in daily life and how to overcome and stand firm in these rough times.
„Crucial“ is the first song on the riddim selection. Singer Torch reflects how he doesn’t fit in the system we are trapped in. The concious artist shows off various rhyme-patterns during the verses and inhances his rebellous attitude. On „Mind over Matter“ Black Omolo speaks about her willpower and ability to be free through positivity. Jah Wyz is an upcoming dancehall/reggae singer from Accra, Ghana. „Free“ is a hommage to everyone fighting their own fight. Yaadcore contibrutes the song „Tension“ to this riddim selection, which was released as single on Fathers Day, June 21, and is rotating on radiostations all over the world.
Top Rankin’ is a sound system and label run by DJ Platinum, Dadamass and Nego. In order to simplify the accessibility of reggae and dancehall to the youth, Top Rankin’ started with their monthly event at a local hot spot called “Rothaus Bar” at Langstrasse, Zurich – the cultural melting pot in Switzerland. Only started in December 2018, the TOP RANKIN’ crew was already able to play at different festivals and events including the biggest reggae/dancehall festival in Switzerland called Reeds Festival alongside Anthony B, Morgan Heritage and Cali P. Now the soundsystem is releasing its first production.

Mit seiner Stimme – eine Melange aus Capleton & Sizzla – sorgt er für Upliftment für alle, die sich durch die Widrigkeiten des Lebens kämpfen müssen. Als Vorgeschmack auf die Selection hat Protojes Haus- und Hof-Selector Yaadcore am 21. Juni die Single „Tension“ herausgebracht, die seitdem weltweit bei vielen Radiosendern rotiert.

In der angesagten Zürcher „Rothaus Bar“ richten sie ihre monatlichen Partys auf – mit Blick auf die junge Generation. Seit ihrer Gründung im Dezember 2018 haben sich ihre Entertainment-Qualitäten gut rumgesprochen. So spielten die Young Guns aus dem Schweizer Schmelztiegel beim renommierten Reeds Festival an der Seite von Anthony B, Morgan Heritage und Cali P. Nachdem sie sich in der Dancehall bewiesen haben, ist es jetzt Zeit für ihre erste Produktion.
